 Minister Coveney Invites Submissions on Dog MicrochippingFriday, 24 May 2013 The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, today announced that his Department is inviting submissions from interested or knowledgeable parties on the microchipping of dogs.  Thurles Clay Shooting Club Holds National Shooting Week Event Thurles Clay Shooting Club is holding an event in association with National Shooting Week, on Saturday 1st June 2013 at their shooting grounds. The Club will have knowledgeable instructors on hand and all equipment is provided; ensuring beginners are well catered for. The event will run from 12pm to 4pm and costs €20 for 25 targets. The competition aims to recognise and award amateur photographers, and this year’s theme is ‘Ireland’s Wildlife’. This leaves the theme wide open to individual interpretation and should provide an interesting array of entries.  EU Public Consultation on FirearmsTuesday, 23 April 2013 The European Commission has launched a European-wide consultation entitled “A common approach to reducing the harm caused by criminal use of firearms in the EU”.
